Black Salt gladly accepts exchanges or returns for store credit on unworn/unwashed full-priced merchandise with original tags attached within 14 days of original delivery date for either store credit or other in-stock items in our shop. All returns are granted in the form of Black Salt gift card/store credit.
WE DO NOT ISSUE REFUNDS. The customer is responsible for all return shipping costs.
During COVID-19, all International/Canadian orders are final sale and cannot be exchanged or returned.
FINAL SALE ITEMS: All sale items, items purchased with a discount of 30% or more, as well as all bodysuits (full priced & sale), accessories, vintage items, and face masks, are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged.
How to exchange / return your item for store credit:
If you'd like to send back any item from your order for store credit or another item, please contact us at info@shopblacksalt.com with your order number and exchange/return for store credit inquiry. Please do not send exchange inquiries via Instagram DM. We need email chain copies of all exchanges and cannot process them via Instagram.
Items eligible for exchange/return for store credit must be back to us, postmarked within 14 days of original delivery date, so contact us sooner than later! (Note: Postmarked means the date the post office/UPS/FedEx accepts the package, not the date you print the label)
Once you've emailed us, we will decide if the item is eligible for exchange/return for store credit based on the guidelines shown below and contact you with a return address and more information. WE DO NOT ISSUE REFUNDS.
You must contact us before shipping your order back.
Please allow 3 - 5 business days processing for the exchange/issue of store credit once we receive your item back. Sending us tracking information for your exchange/return can speed up the process! Once processed, we will contact you with either a new tracking number for your exchange, or email you a store credit in the form of a Black Salt gift card, which are good for one year from issue date.
RETURN/EXCHANGE GUIDELINES
- You must contact info@shopblacksalt.com first before shipping back your item(s)
- Discounted, Sale items, and any full-priced items purchased with a discount code of 30% or more are final sale and cannot be exchanged. Accessories, jewelry, all vintage pieces, face masks, and bodysuits (sale & full-priced) are final sale and cannot be exchanged.
- If more than 14 days (2 weeks) have gone by since you received your item(s), you will not be eligible for an exchange or store credit
- Shipping fees are non-refundable and any return shipping costs are the sole responsibility of the buyer.
- Your item must be in original, brand new condition: unwashed, unworn, tags attached, to be eligible for an exchange/return for store credit. If we receive items back to us that appear to be worn or not in the same condition as when you received them, you will be notified, and the items will be returned to you and considered final sale.
- Item(s) cannot also not have perfume smells, excessive pet hair, deodorant marks, makeup stains, etc. Any items sent back to us with any of these will be returned to the customer and marked as FINAL SALE.
- Items can only be exchanged ONCE. I.E: if you send back an item and exchange it for another, you can no longer exchange that new item. So please look at all measurements and ask any questions before purchasing!
- We cannot accept exchanges/returns on items that have been damaged after wearing. Any item that is ripped/torn by the owner (or a washing machine, etc) is not a manufacturing defect. We inspect all items to make sure they are not faulty before shipping, so any that incur thereafter are solely the responsibility of the customer. So please be gentle with your new clothing - they are not indestructible!
We do not issue refunds.
International Returns
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we are not accepting returns/exchanges on international/Canadian orders. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. We will update here once we change this policy.
Afterpay Orders:
If you placed an order using Afterpay and you'd like to return/exchange an item(s), the exchange process is the same as above - the total cost of your item(s) returned will be applied to a Black Salt gift card/store credit. However, you will still be responsible for the remaining payments to Afterpay from your original purchase.

Please expect some delays in delivery on all US orders at this time. Priority Mail is not guaranteed in 2-3 days during the pandemic. GET SOME PEACE OF MIND:
We HIGHLY RECOMMEND adding "Signature Confirmation" to your orders - it's a few bucks extra, but it eliminates the chance your package can be stolen off your porch/mailbox, which is especially happening more during the holiday season and the pandemic. We cannot be held responsible for any lost/stolen packages, unfortunately.
COVID-19 UPDATE: INTERNATIONAL ORDERS:
As of April 2020, we have strongly discouraged international shopping due to massive shipping delays and shipping issues out of our control. Some packages are taking longer than 2 months to arrive to their destination. We do NOT recommend international shopping right now. If you choose to shop internationally, you are doing so at your own risk. Also, during COVID-19, all orders submitted outside of the United States are final sale and cannot be exchanged or returned.
Black Salt ships international orders twice a week to limit social interactions, so please expect a slight delay with your shipping confirmation.
Due to many delays and returned packages, at this time, we have limited international shipping to only a select few countries. If your country is not shown at checkout, we are currently not shipping to that country.

DOMESTIC ORDERS:
All domestic orders are shipped via USPS Priority Mail and shipped within 2 business days of order placement; Black Salt does not process orders on the weekends or holidays. Please allow 24-48 hours for your tracking to update. Depending where you live in the US, you will get your package within 1-3 business days from the date it was shipped. (Exception during COVID-19, see above notice)
- US orders over $65 ship USPS Priority Mail FREE
- Orders Under $65 ship USPS Priority for a flat rate fee of $8.
Signature Confirmation can be added for an additional $4 on orders over $65, or for $10 on orders under $65. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND adding Signature Confirmation to orders as it eliminates the chance your package can be stolen off your porch/mailbox.
Please note price is subject to change whenever USPS raises their rates.
MISSING/STOLEN PACKAGES:
We are not responsible for any lost/stolen packages that were marked as delivered, and cannot reimburse or replace orders that were misdelivered by the post office or stolen from a property. Oftentimes, packages are stolen, picked up by others by mistake, put in your neighbor's mailbox, etc. We are not responsible for this, unfortunately.
We highly recommend making sure your package is being delivered to a safe and secure location. We offer Signature Confirmation shipping at checkout and highly recommend purchasing this shipping option to avoid the chance of a stolen package. After all, having a package sitting out in the open on your porch is like leaving a wallet sitting on top of your car. It's there for the taking, and sadly, people are awful and will steal what's not theirs.

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS:
International orders are always "ORDER AT YOUR OWN RISK." We are not held responsible for any delays or lost packages.
International orders are shipped USPS First Class International Mail and handed off to your local post office. All international orders are processed and shipped within 3 business days, excluding weekends and holidays. It typically takes between 1 - 6 weeks to arrive, but depending on your country’s customs department, shipping methods may take longer than the expected delivery range given, sometimes up to 30 days or more. Customers are responsible for all customs, duties, and taxes due.
Full tracking is not guaranteed. Oftentimes, once the package leaves the United States, tracking can cease to update.

All shipping addresses must be typed in English at checkout. We cannot ship items to you if your address is typed in another language, per USPS.
CUSTOMS, DUTIES, TAXES:
All customs duties, taxes, or fees are the sole responsibility of the customer. Black Salt is required by law to accurately declare the value of all international orders on customs forms. We will not mark the value of an item lower as it is against the law. Sometimes customs delays do occur. The amount and types of duties, as well as other customs information, can be obtained by contacting a local post office. We have no control over the fees you may need to pay to collect your item. Please take into consideration you may have to pay customs fees when ordering internationally.

UNCLAIMED PACKAGES:
If your package gets returned to us due to duties/customs not paid or item not claimed, etc, we will contact you. To attempt to ship again, the customer will need to pay another international shipping fee.
Original shipping fees will not be refunded under any circumstance. If we do not receive a response or you do not wish to have your item reshipped due to customs/duties fees owed, we will have to deduct a 20% restocking fee from the return. Example: if you purchase a $60 item and pay $18 shipping and your item gets returned to us for not paying customs/fees, you will be refunded $48.
ORDERS SHIPPED TO INCORRECT ADDRESS
We always ship orders to the shipping address customers enter at checkout. If you enter an incorrect shipping address and the package has already been shipped by us, we are no longer able to change the shipping address, so please make sure you're entering in your address correctly!
Package Intercept by USPS can be used to change the delivery address once a package has shipped. Please note there is a fee charged by USPS for this service. Black Salt cannot intercept packages; it is the sole responsibility of the customer to do so.
VACATION MODE:
Very rarely, Black Salt will be away on a quick vacation, which may cause some extended shipping delays as it is a one-woman-run business. This will always be noted at the top of our website, of course!
