USA Orders

US orders over $64:  FREE via USPS Priority Mail 

Orders Under $64:  $8.45 via USPS Priority Mail 

Signature Confirmation can be added for an additional cost. We highly recommend adding Signature Confirmation to orders as it eliminates the chance your package can be stolen off your porch/mailbox. 

Please note price is subject to change whenever USPS raises their rates. Our shipping costs reflect what USPS charges for Priority Mail. We do not make a profit on shipping costs. At this time we do not offer a cheaper, slower shipping option as Priority Mail is the most reliable shipping method. Bonus - you get your order in just a few days!

However, please be aware we are not Amazon and Black Salt is run by one person, so occasionally some minor delays may occur due to bad weather (ie, snowstorms) or during big sales.

Please allow 48 hours for your tracking to update. Orders are not shipped on the weekends or holidays.

USA orders are typically delivered within 2-4 business days from when your order ships.

Please note that during COVID-19 and the holidays, some uncontrollable delays may occur. 

All US orders are shipped via USPS Priority Mail which include tracking. Customers receive tracking with their shipping confirmation emails, as well as automated up-to-date emails notifying customers when their order is out for delivery and when it has been delivered.

For US orders, we offer Signature Confirmation for an additional cost at checkout. This means that USPS requires a signature at time of delivery. It's great if you live in a busy area where packages often go missing/stolen, or if you just want that extra peace of mind.

If you are not home at time of delivery, USPS will leave a notice. The customer is responsible for scheduling another delivery and/or scheduling a pick-up at the post office. Keep an eye on your tracking for updates from USPS regarding scheduling another delivery date or pick-up, etc.

At this time, we do not offer local pick-up or same day delivery. However, if you live in Louisville, KY, orders are typically delivered within 1 business day of shipping.

International Orders

International orders are always "ORDER AT YOUR OWN RISK."  We are not held responsible for any delays or lost packages.

During COVID-19, some packages to countries are taking upwards of 1- 2 months to arrive. These delays are out of our control. We cannot guarantee delivery times. 

International orders are all shipped via USPS International First Class Mail. Shipping costs for international orders are based by order total.

Orders $0 - $74 : $16

Orders $74.01 - $200: $22  

Orders $200.01 - $300 : $30

Orders $300.01 - up:  $35

International packages typically take between 7 and 20 business days to arrive. However, packages can get held up in the receiving country's customs for longer. This is all beyond our control. COVID-19 has also caused additional delays, sometimes up to 2 months. Please take this all into consideration when ordering.

USPS International First Class Mail comes with basic tracking on all orders, however, full tracking is not guaranteed. That means that for some countries, tracking stops updating once it leaves the United States. This still means the package is on the way, but USPS no longer has detailed tracking information.

Some countries, such as Canada, France, the UK, Australia, and Japan typically offer full tracking.

The cost of shipping covers postage only.  All customs duties, taxes, or fees are the sole responsibility of the customer.   

Black Salt is required by law to accurately declare the value of all international orders on customs forms.  We will not mark the value of an item lower as it is against the law.  

Sometimes customs delays do occur.  The amount and types of duties, as well as other customs information, can be obtained by contacting a local post office.​  We have no control over the fees you may need to pay to collect your item.  Please take into consideration you may have to pay customs fees when ordering internationally. 

If your package gets returned to us due to duties/customs not paid or item not claimed, etc, we will contact you. 

To attempt to ship again, the customer will need to pay another international shipping fee. Original shipping fees will not be refunded under any circumstance. 

Refused packages will be subject to a 20% restocking fee.

If your country does not show up in the dropdown at checkout, chances are we are currently unable to ship there, either due to COVID-related restrictions, or we've had issues in the past with lost/missing orders from that country and cannot take the risk of shipping there at this time.

Sometimes, we've just never had a request to ship an order to a certain country. You can always email us at info@shopblacksalt.com to see if we can ship to your country.

Black Salt strongly advises against customers using a freight forwarding service. If you choose to have your package shipped to a Freight Forwarding Service, you are doing so at your own risk. Freight forwarding services often come with massive delays, missing packages, and high levels of fraud.

We claim no responsibility for these packages once accepted by USPS. If your package goes missing or is delayed, we cannot assist and you will have to direct all questions to the freight-forwarding service you used.

We will not refund or reship any packages shipped to a freight-forwarding service.

If we see a customer has placed an order using a Freight Forwarding Service, please note that we may cancel the order to avoid the headache of a lost package for both the customer and Black Salt.

Additional Info

We always ship orders to the shipping address customers enter at checkout.  If you enter an incorrect shipping address and the package has already been shipped, we are no longer able to change the shipping address, so please triple check to make sure you're entering in your address correctly!

If your package gets returned to us, we will need to charge you an additional shipping fee to have the package reshipped to the correct address, whether you originally received free shipping or not.

Package Intercept by USPS can be used to change the delivery address once a package has shipped.   Please note there is a fee charged by USPS for this service.  Black Salt cannot intercept packages; it is the sole responsibility of the customer to do so.

We are not responsible for any lost/stolen packages that were marked as delivered, and cannot reimburse or replace orders that were misdelivered by the post office or stolen from a property. 

Oftentimes, packages are stolen, picked up by others by mistake, put in your neighbor's mailbox, etc.  We are not responsible for this, unfortunately.

We highly recommend making sure your package is being delivered to a safe and secure location.  We offer Signature Confirmation shipping at checkout and highly recommend purchasing this shipping option to avoid the chance of a stolen package. 

After all, having a package sitting out in the open on your porch is like leaving a wallet sitting on top of your car.  It's there for the taking, and sadly, some people are awful and will steal what's not theirs.

Very rarely, Black Salt will be away on a quick vacation, which may cause some extended shipping delays as it is a one-woman-run business.  This will always be noted at the top of our web site, of course!
