Black Salt is a one-woman-run shop, babes! There's no around the clock team workin' here - just me! That being said, all sizing, exchange inquiries, and other product-related questions will be within one business day (24 hours), but oftentimes within just a few minutes during normal working hours. Please allow extra time if inquiry is sent over the weekend as we may be away.
NOTE: If you have sent a product or order-related question and haven't heard back within one business day, make sure you entered your email address correctly on our contact form! If you made a misspelling in your email, we get a bounceback email and cannot respond to your question! You can always contact us directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.

❤ I submitted an order yesterday; when will it ship?
All domestic (US) orders submitted Monday through Friday are shipped within one day of order submission via USPS Priority 2-3 day mail. This excludes preorder items, which will ship when the item arrives to us. Orders submitted between Friday after 4PM EST through the weekend are shipped on Monday, so if you submit an order Friday at 8PM, it typically will not ship until Monday morning unless we get ahead of ourselves and ship it on Saturday (sometimes it happens!)
If you are international, please allow 2 business days after order submission to receive a shipping confirmation. These two business days do not include weekends or US holidays. If you submit an order on a Thursday evening our time (EST), it will typically ship out the following Monday or Tuesday.
Very rarely, but sometimes Black Salt may be on a quick vacation; running a small business alone is exhausting! In this case, we will note the top of our web site that there will be a delay in shipping orders and give an expected ship date of any items ordered while we are away. Thanks for your patience during that time!
❤ My international order's tracking hasn't updated after a certain point
As noted on the checkout page & our shipping page, international tracking is only available for certain countries. Tracking typically updates for all countries up until it leaves the United States. After it leaves the United States Postal Service's hands, it is up to the receiving country if tracking will continue to be available. This is not cause for concern - your item is still on the way so keep an eye out for it!
❤ I sent back my exchange; when will I get my store credit/other merchandise?
Per our exchange policy, exchanges have a 3-5 business day processing after an exchange has been delivered to us. Exchanges are not processed over the weekend.
If your item says it was delivered, please note that does not mean it's in our hands at that very moment as our mailbox is not located at the same address as our studio. For security purposes, we have a secure/locked mailbox in another location for shipments. We don't know your item has been delivered until we head to our mailbox to check for packages and we don't check daily as it's quite a drive. Want to speed up the exchange process a bit? Send us your tracking when you mail the package off - that way we can know when it's been delivered and will know to head to our mailbox to get things goin'.
❤ I have a discount code / gift card / store credit:
DISCOUNT CODES: Awesome! Just enter the code into the discount box at checkout! Please note that discount codes cannot be combined and only one can be used at checkout per order. However, if you have a store credit/gift card, it can be used along with one discount code. Please watch out for those expiration dates though as we cannot extend discount codes after they expire!
Note: any full-priced or sale items purchased with a discount code of 30% or more are automatically considered FINAL SALE and cannot be exchanged.
❤ Where do I enter in this dang discount code?
If you're on a desktop computer, once you click "checkout," you'll see a box to the right that says "gift card or discount code." Enter it in there and click "apply."
If you're on a phone or tablet, once you click "checkout," you'll see your order summary and a form to fill out all your contact info. Click "Show Order Summary" at the top and behold, there appears the gift card/discount code box! Enter in the code and click "apply." You're set!
GIFT CARDS/STORE CREDIT: Once a gift card/store credit is issued, you will receive an email with the specified dollar amount and a unique code used to redeem at checkout. You don't have to use the full amount of the gift card in one purchase. Any remaining balance on your gift card can be used at any time toward another purchase. You can check the remaining balance on your gift card by logging into your Black Salt account. If you do not have a Black Salt account & cannot remember your balance, just email us at email@example.com and we can look it up for ya! Gift cards do expire one year from issue date.
Gift cards are applied to the final order total, therefore, they can be used towards any shipping and taxes. Discount codes cannot be used to purchase gift cards.
❤ My discount code / store credit / gift card isn't working
If the discount code you're entering does not work, it may be because the code has either has expired or does not apply to the product you're buying. If you believe this is an error, just shoot us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll look into it as soon as we can! Please note if a discount code has expired, we cannot extend it.
Oftentimes, we'll have items available for preorder so you can get first dibs before they arrive at the shop! We usually list an estimated ship date; expect your item to ship within a few days of that date.

- Preorders cannot be canceled once the order is submitted.
- Please order any in-stock items separately from your preordered item unless you prefer to wait and have the order ship complete. Any in-stock items ordered along with preordered items will not ship until the preordered items arrive to us and are ready to ship out.
- We have the right to cancel a preorder at any time if, by chance, the style is canceled by the brand, if there was an error in production, or if our shipment has size discrepancies that don't match what was sold. We will, of course, notify you if the preorder is canceled and refund you the full amount of your order.
- If a preorder item on our site is listed as "sold out," we have sold out of our inventory of that item and cannot accept any more preorders.
❤ Where is the clothing from? Is ethically made? Made in America?
The clothing we carry in our shop is made by various small independent labels from different locations around the world, most based in California, England, and Australia. The vast majority of these brands ethically make their items right here in the USA (Sugarhigh Lovestoned, Valfre, Daydreamer, Novella Royale, Ettika, Vanessa Mooney, I'm With The Band). Likewise, majority of items from the London brand Oh My Love are made in Britain.
While we're working on carrying more amazing brands made right here in the USA, we do have some brands whose items are imported (Spell, Rolla's, Motel, Lucca).
❤ When you will restock " " item?
We rarely restock items once they sell out. Majority of the time, it's because the item is no longer available for us to reorder from the brand, but sometimes it's just because we're ready to move onto new styles!

It's a bummer to miss out on something! Unfortunately, if it's not showing up on our site, it's no longer in stock or available to be restocked.
